By definition, a still life is the representation of chiefly inanimate objects. In truth, still life can be anything but I strive to convey a certain mood or feeling with my still life images. Thanks for taking the time to stop by and view my work!

A Gathering of Pine

The small basket is filled with hickory nuts, walnuts, etc. The midsize basket has one large pine cone and pine branches, while the large basket has tipped over spilling it's collection of pine cones. The lighting creates a romantic, old world feel.

Teddybear School
School is in session! Two young teddy bears learning how to write their names. The teacher holds a slate showing them how to spell and write the name and the student bears try to copy it on their own slates. Three vintage books, and apple for the teacher, and teacher's hand bell are included in the scene.

Still Life with Wine & Grapes

Yesterday's Light
An old kerosene lantern on a shelf in the barn. No longer needed, it sits collecting dust and rust. A remnant of a life and time gone by. Hickory nuts and an acorn cupule, leftovers from a squirrel's foraging, and a few rusty nails are seen on the shelf. A still life scene from my childhood, memories of days spent exploring the old barns on grandpa's farm.
